Cantu acquitted of wiretapping charges
Nearly a year after an accusation of wiretapping that led to her arrest, former Lometa police chief Melissa Cantu was acquitted of the felony charges on Oct. 28.
Cantu faced a trial by jury last Monday in the 27th District Court of Lampasas County, where defense attorney R.C. Pate of Michael & Associates argued the case wasn’t criminal from the beginning.
