U.S. 281 lane closures begin March 4

    The Texas Department of Transportation’s Brownwood District announced its contractor will close all lanes of the segment of U.S. Highway 281 that extends from E.E. Ohnmeiss Drive over Sulphur Creek beginning March 4.

    The closure will run through April 26, which means the roadway will be closed during the 2024 solar eclipse on April 8.
