Although Kempner, Lometa, Goldthwaite and San Saba showed stellar gains this period, the monthly sales tax results for other cities in the area were significantly lower in March.
Sales tax allocations to Texas cities, counties and special purposes districts reflected a decrease this month, compared to March 2023 rebates. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced that total revenue across the state was down 2% in March.
Although Kempner and Lometa posted hefty gains this period, the city of Lampasas has seen its sales tax receipts drop in nine of the last 10 months.
