New COVID-19 variant cases detected in Lampasas County
New cases of the COVID-19 variant have hit Lampasas County. More than 60 active cases have been recorded as of Dec. 23. METRO CREATIVE SERVICES
The new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, has made its way to Lampasas County, according to county officials.
As of noon Dec. 23, Texas had more than 100,000 active cases COVID-19 — with 60 active cases countywide.
Lampasas Fire Chief Jeff Smith, who also serves as the city’s emergency management coordinator, said the new variant makes up the majority of current cases across Texas.
