City Secretary Hayleigh Talasek, shown sitting next to Mayor John Wilkerson, has tendered her resignation to Kempner officials, however she plans to provide training when a replacement is hired and will be available on a contract basis after January 2026 to assist the city if needed. Kempner City Council members accepted City Secretary Hayleigh Talasek’s resignation in last Tuesday’s regular meeting.
Council members approved a budget amendment, however, that will allow Talasek to remain with the city through the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
Also in last week’s meeting, council members made final decisions on two seized vehicles held by the Kempner Police Department.
