The report from the Aug. 2 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows.
Cattle and calves: Total cattle 540, compared to 685 last sale and 722 at this time last year.
Compared to last sale, feeder steers were $3-$5 lower, heifers steady to $3 higher. Slaughter cows $1-$3 higher, and slaughter bulls $2-$4 higher.
Feeder cattle accounted for 67%. Slaughter cows and bulls accounted for 33%.
