Lampasas shelter approaches ‘no-kill’ status

In 2022, 68,945 dogs and cats were euthanized in shelters across the state of Texas. Lampasas Animal Shelter is one of many municipal shelters taking steps to change that.

Pearl church to host revival services

Pearl Church of Christ, at 6790 FM 183 in Pearl, will hold a revival service Saturday at 7 p.m. with guest speaker Will Jackson. The service will be followed with homemade ice cream and snacks. On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., Chris Halpayne will speak.

Fun time in the foam

Youngsters jump around with joy as a foam cannon sprays the fluffy substance into the air. On Friday, the Lampasas Public Library hosted its end-of-summer reading party and shaved ice event.

July programs slated at the Lampasas library

The month of July brings numerous events at the Lampasas Public Library. The library will be closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day. It also will be closed July 8 for Spring Ho festivities. “Story Time With Beta Mu” will take place July 12 at 10 a.m.

In an article titled “Lonestar officials mum on unaccounted payments” in the Friday, June 23 issue of the Dispatch Record, it was stated that Dr. James Mercer was a board member of Lampasas Association for the Arts. He is a former LAFTA member, who held a seat on the board in early 2022.
