Cantata performs today

Several local churches will present a Good Friday Community Cantata entitled “Harvest of Sorrows.” The cantata will be performed at First Presbyterian Church today at noon and again at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Pecan Field Day set for May 5

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the San Saba County Pecan Growers Association will host the annual Pecan Field Day on May 5 at the San Saba Civic Center, 1190 Thomas Stewart Dr.Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the program to start at 9 a.m.

Miceli, area law enforcement agencies honor DJ Daniel at Texas Capitol

Lampasas County resident Paul Miceli held back tears at the Texas Capitol while presenting 13-year-old Devarjaye 'DJ' Daniel with honorary swearing-in certificates from local law enforcement agencies.

Good Friday fundraiser to benefit 100 Club

On Friday, McDonald’s restaurants across Central Texas will hold a fundraiser to support local 100 Club chapters in their mission to help family members of law enforcement officers and firefighters who have been killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
