Garden club members learn about fireresistant landscaping

Kiley Moran of the Texas A&M Forest Service provided a program on fire-resistant landscaping Feb. 17 for the L-M Garden and Civic Club in Lometa.Moran explained in detail the characteristics of both fireresistant plants and those that are not so fire-resistant.

Bridge group enjoys afternoon of cards

The Community Bridge group met Feb. 10 in the fellowship hall at First Presbyterian Church. Twenty people enjoyed an afternoon of bridge, with Christine Vann taking home first place. Margaret Oberender was second, and Carolyn Anderson of Copperas Cove was third.

Sanchez puts Mexicano, Americano heritage on display

It’s easy to point out Lampasas resident Robert Sanchez around town – just look for the muscle car wrapped in Mexican and American flags. Since he was a teenager, Sanchez has had a passion for cars. But as a child, bikes were his first love.
