Septic system maintenance clinic set for Aug. 27

A free clinic on septic system maintenance for homeowners will be conducted from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The event is offered by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Lampasas River Watershed Partnership.

Teriyaki Madness ready to cure Asian-inspired cravings

Teriyaki Madness, located on Central Texas Expressway, is now open to serve Lampasas residents their favorite Asian fusion cravings.Lampasas’ newest fast-casual dining restaurant is operated by M 5 Enterprise, owners of the Golden Chick franchise next door and 13 other eateries across the state.

Travel club to meet Aug. 28

The August meeting of the Central Texas Travel Club will be Aug. 28 at Johnny’s Steaks and Barbeque in Salado. The gathering starts at 11 a.m., with the meeting to begin at 11:30 a.m.The group will discuss upcoming trips including Homestead Heritage Farms, Rockport and Florida in December.

I’m not sure if there’s a sign-up sheet for folks moving into Lampasas. If there is, I missed it. But that’s not tragic, because I’ve lived here before. My parents and grandparents are from this area, and we lived here during my eighth- and ninth-grade years (’64-’65).I really liked it.
