The annual Wild West Casino Night is just around the corner, but there still is time to secure a seat at the gaming tables.
The event, set for Feb. 28 at the Lampasas County Livestock Association showbarn, serves as a fundraising opportunity for the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce and Vision Lampasas.
Chamber Executive Director Melissa Unger said the Boys and Girls Club of Lampasas will be assisting with the event, with hopes the organization will join the fundraising event next year.
“Because it is in February, it really kicks off the event season in our community,” Unger said of Casino Night. “All of our organizations -- Vision Lampasas, Boys and Girls Club, and the chamber -- throughout the year all the money we raise goes back into the community in some way.”
Unger said the event helps the chamber raise funds for scholarships to graduating seniors and donations to other nonprofit organizations in the Lampasas area.
For Vision Lampasas, the Casino Night fundraiser helps support events the volunteer group hosts such as the Indian Artifact Show, Squared Silly, HoliDazzle Christmas Parade and the Christmas on the Creek celebration.
At press time, approximately 50 tickets were still available for the event. The cost to attend is $75 per person.
Those interested in purchasing a ticket or securing a sponsorship may do so by visiting the chamber’s online calendar at business. lampasaschamber.org/events/calendar and click on the “Wild West Casino Night” tab to view the sponsorship form or link to purchase tickets.
“On Valentine’s Day, give your significant other a ticket to Casino Night which is a couple weeks later, and you can enjoy both evenings,” Unger said.
The Wild West Casino Night will include a robust offering of silent and live auction items. Prizes range from art pieces, experiences, jewelry, a Lampasas tailgating package and more. Each year, the event has something new to offer.
“You have to be there to see what is new on the auction tables,” Unger said. “There is something for everyone – for males, females and kids. The event is 21 and over, however. We understand people in town want to do things with their families, so we will have some different experiences for them to enjoy with their families.”
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with a steak dinner to be served at 6 p.m.
The gaming tables, operated by Casino Knights, will open at 6:30 p.m. Games will include casino favorites like Blackjack, Roulette, Texas Hold ’Em and Craps.
Gaming will pause for the live auction to get underway between 8-8:30 p.m. Following the live auction, gaming will resume and continue until 10 p.m. Silent auctions will begin to close down at the conclusion of casino games.
