Former Lampasas High School librarian Kay Gray Fox encouraged trustees of the board of the Lampasas Independent School District to visit school libraries before deciding whether to eliminate three fulltime librarian positions across the district.

Dr. Steve Forsythe, director of the Lampasas Independent School District’s Career and Technology Education department, explained some of the program’s provisions to LISD board members at Monday night’s monthly meeting.

Forsythe, also an agriculture instructor and FFA adviser, updated trustees on the impact the program has had on Lampasas High School students.

Church movie

First United Methodist Church will host a special showing of “Courageous” tonight at 6 p.m. at Wesley Fellowship Hall.

The movie is free. Pizza is available for $1 per slice, and popcorn and drinks are $.50.

Daycare will be provided for younger children.

Stitches in Time, the annual Keystone Square Museum fundraiser, is March 2-3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lampasas County Courthouse.

This year’s theme is “Blocks from the Past.”

Needlework and quilt entries will be accepted Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum. For information, phone 556-2224.

Meetings

The Lampasas County Commissioners Court will meet Monday at 9 a.m. in the firstfloor courtroom at the county courthouse.

The Lampasas City Council also will meet Monday. A workshop session is set for 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 405 S. Main St. behind City Hall, and the regular session will start at 7 p.m.

Project Grad

The Project Graduation Committee for the Lampasas High School Class of 2012 will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the District Administration Building, Eighth and Walnut streets.

Graduating seniors’ parents are encouraged to attend.
